And A Few People Can't Control The World?

Will You Tell Them, Or Shall We?
How The 'David Icke Is A Freemason' Photograph Was Faked

Friday, 26 March 2010 10:38
My god, they must be desperate to discredit me. It must be something I said - and will keep saying. This won't be the last attempt to discredit me and my work this year either - not even nearly so - but they can throw all the dirt and diversions they like. I will keep on keeping on no matter what.

But you know what has been utterly amazing to me? The number of people who think they are 'streetwise' who have just repeated this fantasy without question - repeaters again - when it is the most blatant piece of Photoshop. Staggering.

Do they not think for a second that the Control System in all its forms has an interest in discrediting me? Apparently not. I say again ... and a few people can't control the world??
Well, Well, Well ... the 'David Icke Is A Freemason' Picture Before It Was Photoshopped

It was then turned the other way round ...

... and this face of David Icke added, again switched around the other way ...

You would be amazed how many people were taken in by this pathetic hoax ... an example ...  //David's arthritic hand making Freemasonic signals//

Thanks to the researchers on the forum for their great work, much appreciated ...

Computer Software Decodes Emotions Over the Phone, Predicts Behavior
Saturday, 08 May 2010 09:14

'Less than two minutes into a cell phone conversation, a new computer program can predict a broken heart -- literally and figuratively. An Israeli company called eXaudios has developed a computer program, known as Magnify, that decodes the human voice to identify a person’s emotional state.

Some companies in the United States already use the system in their call centers. eXaudios is even testing the software’s use in diagnosing medical conditions like autism, schizophrenia, heart disease and even prostate cancer.'

Two Little Girls: Murder in the Jordan Valley   Saturday, 08 May 2010 08:30

'That April day Emad Fakha had taken three of his four children to help in the fields after school, something they enjoyed, a treat. The children had climbed into the “basket” on the ground at the rear of the tractor, ready to be lifted up. Emad was preparing to start the motor when an Israeli military jeep swerved off the road, at speed, and rammed into the tractor from behind. While Hussein was thrown clear and suffered only a broken leg, the little girls didn’t stand a chance. With the body of one sister draped obscenely over its front bumper, the jeep reversed for five or six metres and then rammed once again into the tractor. What might have been a tragic accident is thus revealed for what it was – a cold-blooded murder. Their jeep undriveable and so unable to escape, the soldiers threatened Emad with their rifles. More soldiers arrived but it was 25 minutes before the Israeli police reached the scene. The soldiers claimed that it was “an accident”, but Israeli citizen Eliazer Salam, from the settlement at Yama, who had witnessed the entire incident from his car, testified that the jeep driver had not applied his brakes at any stage, and had, indeed, swerved off the road and accelerated into the tractor.'  ... When I asked the family whether there would be an inquest (explaining that this was the usual procedure in Western, democratic countries) they didn’t understand the term. They have no recourse to the protection of the law, as we know it. Far from protecting the civilian population of the territories which they occupy, as required under international law, the Israeli military brutalises and preys upon a helpless people.

Recent similar incidents in the Nablus region – at Awarta and in Jenin – where Israeli military vehicles have been used to run down pedestrians and ram a civilian car, with fatal consequences, seem to point to an emerging pattern. The psychopathic tendencies of certain members of the Israel Defence (sic) Force have found an outlet.

Meanwhile, a single, small grave has been dug in the graveyard at Al Ain al Baida. It houses the remains of two small sisters, their severed limbs and bodies buried as one, together forever under the sun, clouds and rain of their beloved Palestine.  // The single grave of Maasa (5) and Jamaa (8)  //

Romania to Cut Wages and Pensions to Appease IMF  Saturday, 08 May 2010 08:14

'Romania is to cut wages and pensions in the public sector later this year, to comply with an IMF-led rescue deal. Romanian President Traian Basescu said the "programme to cut public expenses was inevitable".

Public sector wages will be cut by 25% and all salaries, including the minimum one, will be affected. Jobless benefits and pensions will be slashed by 15%. Romania is the recipient of a 20bn-euro aid package from the IMF, the EU and the World Bank.'

Bernanke's Biggest Bailout     Saturday, 08 May 2010 08:10

'The right-wing think-tank, the American Enterprise Institute, is helping the Federal Reserve to develop a strategy to transfer $1.25 trillion in toxic mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and non performing loans onto the public's balance sheet. Although it's unknown whether Fed chair Ben Bernanke will act on the AEI's recommendations, it does show that the Fed's Quantitative Easing program (QE)--which moved the bulk of garbage assets from the banks to the Fed's balance sheet--poses long-term problems that will need to be addressed. Bernanke never intended to keep these assets any longer than necessary. Now he is actively exploring options for getting rid of them.'

U.S. Taxpayers Could be Bailing Out European Banks, as Debt Crisis Worsens
Saturday, 08 May 2010 07:39
'As the European debt crisis picks up steam and batters world markets, various reports are surfacing that the US taxpayer is on the hook for billion of dollars in bailout funds via the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The United States provides approximately 20% of IMF funding, which means the taxpayer could pay $8 billion to prop up Greek banks.

More precisely, it is being reported that taxpayer dollars will be utilized to rescue top European banks throughout the EU in order to contain their dangerous exposure to Greek debt.  And if this contagion spreads to Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Ireland, as many believe, US taxpayers could be providing a whole lot more through additional IMF bailouts.

If confirmed, several critical questions arise.

For example, how will the U.S. afford a massive, intercontinental "Too Big to Fail" scheme?  We're running $1.6 trillion deficits, mired in $13 trillion of debt, and floundering in 16.9% real unemployment.  A record number of Americans are on food stamps, and record foreclosures are still battering the housing market.

Will we borrow more from China and Japan?

Will we raise taxes to fund the European bank bailout?

Will we just print the money out of thin air (at the Federal Reserve)?

And what if other nations around the globe begin to come under severe economic pressure as a result of the debt contagion?  Will we be forced to bail out their banks as well?

Or, what if the debt contagion spreads here to America, and we're forced to consider yet another Wall St bailout to avert a total meltdown?

For now, readers should closely monitor the situation, ask the tough questions, and keep a watchful eye on the actions of the current Administration, Congress, and the Federal Reserve.         *  Here are a couple of links discussing potential US taxpayer exposure.  Click here, and here.  //  by Ryan Jaroncyk     Tue, May 04th 2010
EU Is Collapsing Like Tower Of Babel   Saturday, 08 May 2010 07:28

'Monument Securities Chief Economist Stephen Lewis says the chaos in Greece could lead to collapse of the European Union, bringing down with it the dangerous assumption that structures of global governance provide stability in times of financial peril, but the World Bank and IMF vultures will be waiting as ever to feed on the remains of a dying country.'  ///////   But World Bank and IMF vultures are lying in wait to feed on the remains of Greece  /    Paul Joseph Watson   Prison     Friday, May 7, 2010

Monument Securities Chief Economist Stephen Lewis says the chaos in Greece could lead to collapse of the European Union, bringing down with it the dangerous assumption that structures of global governance provide stability in times of financial peril, but the World Bank and IMF vultures will be waiting as ever to feed on the remains of a dying country. Striking Greek workers and civil servants have violently protested their government’s acceptance of the terms of an EU-IMF bailout, which sacrifices their future prosperity in a trade off for an attempt at stabilizing the Euro zone as a whole, a damning indictment of how global governance, which was introduced under the justification of maintaining financial stability, has had the exact opposite effect, with the virulence of the contagion from Greece threatening to spread to Portugal, Spain and Italy.

“There can be little wonder that the bailout finds little favor with Greek popular opinion,” Lewis said. “It must be obvious to Greek citizens that its terms pay scant regard to their future prosperity, which is being sacrificed in an increasingly forlorn hope of preserving a stable currency for the use of citizens in other member-states.”

Europe’s debt crisis has seen the Euro single currency plunge against the U.S. dollar, while riots were also a contributing factor to yesterday’s alarming U.S. stock market plunge, which at one stage saw the Dow Jones shed almost 1000 points.

BNP Paribas are now predicting that the Euro will hit parity against the U.S. dollar within 12 months, a level not seen for eight years. “While we have had one of the most bearish forecasts in the market, these previous projections now appear too moderate given the current developments,” states the BNP report.

Economist Lewis firmly lays the blame for the chaos on internationalists who conned European nations into surrendering their sovereignty to the European project under the delusion that the architecture they were trading for their national self-determination would protect their country from precisely the kind of strife now unfolding.

“The guilty men are the eurocrats who stubbornly refuse to recognise that their fanciful construction is collapsing like a Tower of Babel,” Lewis told CNBC.

Lewis also forecasts that the riots and the violence show no signs of abating, so long as the globalists insist on forcing Greece into bondage by implementing the draconian terms of the EU-IMF loan which has now been passed by Parliament.

“Since most Greeks appear to think their government’s debts were incurred in the first place as a result of the nefarious activities of a ruling elite, the chances of their settling down to fulfil the terms of the bailout seem remote at best,” he said.

((  The Globalizer Who Came In From the Cold, Wednesday, October 10, 2001 ... by Greg Palast ... A version of this was first published as "The IMF's Four Steps to Damnation" in The Observer (London) in April and another version in The Big Issue - that's the magazine that the homeless flog on platforms in the London Underground. Big Issue offered equal space to the IMF, whose "deputy chief media officer" wrote: "... I find it impossible to respond given the depth and breadth of hearsay and misinformation in [Palast's] report."

Of course it was difficult for the Deputy Chief to respond. The information (and documents) came from the unhappy lot inside his agency and the World Bank. Award-winning reporter Palast writes Inside Corporate America for the London Observer. To read other Palast reports, to contact the author or to subscribe to his column, go to GregPalast.Com ))

As was first documented by investigative reporter Greg Palast, what is happening in Greece is a familiar blueprint for how the IMF and World Bank habitually pillage and take over national countries and their economies.   Palast uncovered World Bank documents explaining how the IMF and World Bank deliberately fan the flames of violence and social unrest by raising prices on food, oil and the cost of living, causing riots which then lead to a virtual collapse of society which they then swoop in     to exploit.

“The IMF riot is painfully predictable,” Palast quotes former World Bank chief Joe Stiglitz. When a nation is, “down and out, [the IMF] takes advantage and squeezes the last pound of blood out of them. They turn up the heat until, finally, the whole cauldron blows up,” as when the IMF eliminated food and fuel subsidies for the poor in Indonesia in 1998.

Palast uncovered how the riots were “written into the plan” by the IMF and World Bank and that “social unrest” was required to cause a financial panic, allowing for global corporations to then be able to buy up infrastructure on the cheap.

“The IMF riots (and by riots I mean peaceful demonstrations dispersed by bullets, tanks and teargas) cause new panicked flights of capital and government bankruptcies,” writes Palast. “This economic arson has it’s bright side – for foreign corporations, who can then pick off remaining assets, such as the odd mining concession or port, at fire sale prices.”

Immigration Gumballs    Saturday, 08 May 2010 07:13   9:36 minutes

dave777  —   2 nov 2006  — This is a MUST SEE video for anyone interested in the immigration debate, whether you are a citizen, an illegal alien or a Congressman. ... all » This clip from the longer video, Immigration by the Numbers, features Roy Beck demonstrating the catastrophe of the huge numbers of both legal and illegal immigration by Third World people into the modern nations. He uses standard statistics and simple gumballs to show this disaster in the making. ** **

Video was done by roy beck:

(( Roy Beck is a former journalist and public policy analyst who has served as the Executive Director of NumbersUSA since 1997. Beck was a journalist for three decades before founding NumbersUSA. He is former Washington D. C. bureau chief of Booth Newspapers and one of the nation's first environment-beat newspaper reporters.[1] Beck was also the Washington DC editor of John Tanton's magazine The Social Contract, and a frequent speaker on population, labor, and immigration issues. Critics have often pointed out his use of unscaled charts to recruit members for NumbersUSA.

A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Beck won national awards during the 1970s for his coverage of urban expansion issues, including honors from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Izaak Walton League.[2] In addition to the advocacy of immigration reduction, much of his work focuses on urban planning and sprawl-related matters.

Beck's April 1994 article in the Atlantic Monthly, "The Ordeal of Immigration in Wausau," brought national media attention and commentary to the issue of mass immigration. [3] The New York Times credited Beck's NumbersUSA organization with applying enough pressure to U.S. Senators to defeat a comprehensive immigration bill in June 2007.[4] He has been described as a "tutor" for U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo on immigration issues.[5] Beck has also served as the spokesperson of the Coalition for the Future American Worker and authored the book The Case Against Immigration (ISBN 0393039153).     External links ...(...)

Fox News Caught Aggregating Others Copyrighted Photographs... Something Murdoch Insists Is Illegal     Saturday, 08 May 2010 06:58

'Rupert Murdoch and the top execs at News Corp. keep insisting that sites that aggregate content from elsewhere on the internet are "stealing." Of course, as we've noted, News Corp. has an awful lot of sites that rely on aggregating content from elsewhere -- so apparently it's only legit when Murdoch does it himself. Murdoch, of course, has also famously claimed that fair use is a doctrine that courts would "bar altogether" if challenged in the courts -- but at the same time, his own company regularly claims "fair use" to defend its own actions. That's generally called hypocrisy.    And it keeps getting worse. The latest is that TorrentFreak has noticed that Fox News recently put together a photo gallery of the Icelandic volcano eruption, and used some photos from Flickr -- even though the photos were limited were covered by copyright and not free for others to use without permission and/or license. The photographer in question has tried contacting Fox News and has so far been totally ignored. And yet Murdoch just mentions in passing -- incorrectly -- that he thinks Google News "steals" his content by sending him traffic and its front page news...

Times Square 'False Flag' and Security Cameras  Sat, 08 May 2010 06:39

The Illuminati formula is simple to understand:

1. Manufacture the Crisis       2. Present the Solution

'Through MK-Ultra and other programming, our shadow government can manufacture Middle Eastern looking terrorists all day long. MK-Ultra is not science fiction, it is a well-documented fact that was exposed in Congressional Hearings. The Illuminati have long desired to pit Islam against Western Christianity in a global conflict that would result in the mass extermination of both groups. Its all part of their 90% population reduction program.

The problem, as they see it, is that their are too many sheep and not enough shepherds. Too many slaves and not enough masters. Their preferred ratio is 10 slaves to one Satanic Psychopath. The goal is to minimize the odds that we "get smart" in large numbers, and rise up against our Satanic Overlords.   The latest "Manchurian Candidate" served two goals:   1. Inflame Christians against Moslems.  2. Introduce mass surveillance into the United States.
In typical Illuminati fashion, anyone that criticizes mass surveillance will be labelled a terrorist sympathizer that is callous to the safety of others. It comes right back to the concept of whether you want manufactured security or Constitutional Freedom. Innocent until Proven Guilty or Guilty until proven innocent.

It used to be that law enforcement would have to demonstrate "probable cause" to violate your right to privacy. Wire taps, video recorders and other surveilance only came as a result of a Court Order. In fact, Richard Nixon lost his job for unlawful surveillance of his political rivals at the Watergate hotel.

But, here is the crucial point: "With the bombing of four locations on 7 July 2005 in London, which is commonly known one of the most heavily surveilled cities in the world, the unfortunate accuracy of our assertion was once again demonstrated: despite the presence of approximately 500,000 surveillance cameras in that city, most of them installed in the wake of the IRA bombings of the early 1990s, four completely undeterred terrorists set off bombs that killed over 50 people and wounded 700 more. The Emperor is wearing no clothes and now a lot of people see his nakedness." (source )
I have read reports that detail how the cameras were conveniently "disabled" by intelligence hacks prior to the 7/7 bombings. So, the one thing we would all love to see, a real live intelligence operation that implicates our Politicians in manufacturing terror, will never be recorded in the first place. (source  )

Another case in point is the 9/11 Pentagon bombing where all of the private video surveillance tapes were confiscated by the FBI (Citgo gas station across the street for example) and will never see the light of day. We also need to ask about the black box recordings that were also conveniently lost in Ron Brown's plane crash and the 9/11 attacks. Funny how a few paper passports survive, but not the black boxes.

From Arnold Kling, a columnist at Tech Central Station, 29 July 2005:

"The ability to recreate a terrorist incident after the fact does not excite me. It would do nothing to deter a suicide terrorist. My guess is that it does little to deter even terrorists who want to live afterward -- they know they are playing a high-risk game.

As a prevention tool, security cameras are of questionable value. Do human beings have to monitor the cameras 24/7? At best, cameras can use face-recognition technology to issue some sort of alert, such as, "there's a chap on our watch list, about to board the subway." Is such information timely and actionable?

It seems to me that it would make more sense to invest in a network of sensors that detects explosive devices than a network of cameras. A sensor that tries to detect explosives is less of a threat to privacy than a video camera. And a positive reading from such a sensor would be a lot more actionable." (Source)
So, if they don't work, why do the politicians and their puppet masters want us to llive in a "surveillance society"? The answer should seem obvious to those that actually see what is going on in the world:

1. They have stolen our wealth through the Federal Reserve scam and the 1000 trillion dollar financial derivatives scam. Real wealth is in gold and silver and ours is long gone.

2. The collapse of the middle class will lead to massive protests and the formation of political opposition that they cannot control. So, cameras will identify political opponents before they become a problem and they can then be eliminated. Think in terms of someone grabbing a "soapbox" in a Public Place to denounce the current regime. Or someone putting up a poster or handing out leaflets.

3. You could be identified as a dissident based on a bumper sticker or a T-shirt you wear. Or, the books you are carrying.
So, what can be done at this point you ask? Let me propose the following:

1. Sue them for "Invasion of Privacy". Flood the courts with complaints that these cameras are a gross invasion of your privacy. Make it economically and socially unfeasible through litigation.            // //

2. Join My "Stop Big Brother Surveillance Society" and Sign the Petition: (Click Here)

Surveillance cameras in public places: Let the backlash against them begin!

(A completely useless surveillance photograph of the alleged attackers.)

For years, we have been pointing out the obvious: despite the sales pitch, surveillance cameras installed in public places do not prevent or "deter" criminal activity or terrorism. If they are useful for anything -- that is, anything other than racial profiling, sexual voyeurism, harassment of political dissidents, reinforcing conformism, et al. -- surveillance cameras provide sometimes clear, sometimes blurry pictures of the crime after it is too late to do anything about it. On 13 September 2001, we made this simple point with respect to the attacks on the World Trade Center; and on 9 May 2005, we made this point with respect to the still unsolved bombing of the British Consulate.

But these events took place in New York City, which has comparably few surveillance cameras operated by the police ("only" 5,000 or so). And so our point could easily be dismissed. With the bombing of four locations on 7 July 2005 in London, which is commonly known one of the most heavily surveilled cities in the world, the unfortunate accuracy of our assertion was once again demonstrated: despite the presence of approximately 500,000 surveillance cameras in that city, most of them installed in the wake of the IRA bombings of the early 1990s, four completely undeterred terrorists set off bombs that killed over 50 people and wounded 700 more. The Emperor is wearing no clothes and now a lot of people see his nakedness.  From The Financial Times, 21 July 2005: ....(...)

'Last week, Goldman Sachs was on the congressional hot seat, grilled for fraud in its sale of complicated financial products called “synthetic CDOs.”  This week the heat was off, as all eyes turned to the attack of the shorts on Greek sovereign debt and the dire threat of a sovereign Greek default.  By Thursday, Goldman’s fraud had slipped from the headlines and Congress had been cowed into throwing in the towel on its campaign to break up the too-big-to-fail banks.  On Friday, Goldman was in settlement talks with the SEC.

Goldman and Wall Street reign.  Congress appears helpless to discipline the big banks, just as the European Central Bank appears helpless to prevent the collapse of the European Union. . . . Or are they?'

May 3rd, 2010:

As if attacks from paparazzi and star-crazed fans weren’t enough, Hollywood stars may soon have a literal price put on their heads by investors in the Cantor Exchange, a real-money trading platform where people can bet on the gross profits of upcoming movies.

April 21st, 2010

While the SEC is busy investigating Goldman Sachs, it might want to look into another Goldman-dominated fraud: computerized front running using high-frequency trading programs.

The government is now officially in the banking business. On March 30, 2010, President Obama signed the reconciliation “fix” to the health care reform bill passed by Congress last week. Slipped into it was student loan legislation the President calls “one of the most significant investments in higher education since the G.I. Bill.”

As the states’ credit crisis deepens, four states have initiated bills for state-owned banks, and candidates in seven states have now included that solution in their platforms.

In addition to mandatory private health insurance premiums, we may soon be hit with a “mandatory savings” tax and other belt-tightening measures urged by the President’s new budget task force. These radical austerity measures are not only unnecessary but will actually make matters worse. The push for “fiscal responsibility” is based on bad economics.

The public bank concept is gaining ground on the state level, attracting proponents across the political spectrum.

The onion is being peeled in the AIG bailout, which is being compared to the Watergate scandal.

January 29th, 2010 THE BATTLE OF THE TITANS: JPMORGAN VS. GOLDMAN SACH: Or Why the Market Was Down for 7 Days in a Row

We are witnessing an epic battle between two banking giants, JPMorgan Chase (Paul Volcker) and Goldman Sachs (Rubin/Geithner). The bodies left on the battleground could include your pension fund and 401K.

The story goes that Churchill offered a woman 5 million pounds to sleep with him. She hedged and said they would have to discuss terms. Then he offered her 5 pounds. “Sir!” she said. “What sort of woman do you think I am?” “Madam,” he replied, “We’ve already established that. Now we’re just haggling over the price.”

The recent proposal to vote with our feet by shifting our deposits from Wall Street to community banks is a great start. However, community banks are not suffering from a lack of deposits so much as from a lack of the capital they need to make new loans, and investment capital today is scarce. There is a way out of this dilemma, demonstrated for over 90 years by the innovative state of North Dakota -- a partnership in which community banks are backed by the deep pockets of a state-owned bank.

Rather than focusing on making health care affordable, the current debate is on how to force people either to buy health insurance if they don’t have it, or to pay more for it if they do. [This article is a shortened version of "Let Them Eat Cake."]

December 7th, 2009 EU/IMF REVOLT: GREECE, ICELAND, LATVIA MAY LEAD THE WAY Europe’s small, debt-strapped countries could follow the lead of Argentina and simply walk away from their debts. That would shift the burden to the creditor countries, which could solve the problem merely by a change in accounting rules.

November 27th, 2009 THE ROLE OF MONEY CREATION IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Miners used to keep canaries in coal mines as an early warning device. If the air was so bad that it killed the canary, the miners would soon be next. Japan may be the canary for the out-of-control deficit spending policies now being pursued in the United States and the United Kingdom.

November 11th, 2009 A LITTLE POPULIST RETRIBUTION: MAKING WALL STREET PAY ITS FAIR SHARE Wall Street's speculative traders have managed to trade in practically the only products left on the planet that are not subject to a sales tax. The fact that trades in “financial products” remain untaxed suggests a tidy way the public could recover some of its bailout money.

October 31st, 2009 CUT WALL STREET OUT! HOW STATES CAN FINANCE THEIR OWN RECOVERY Pouring money into the private banking system has only fixed the economy for bankers and the wealthy; it has not done much to address either the fundamental problem of unemployment or the debt trap so many Americans find themselves in.

October 11th, 2009 REVIVING THE LOCAL ECONOMY WITH PUBLICLY-OWNED BANKS The credit crunch is getting worse on Main Street, despite a Wall Street bailout now in the trillions of dollars. The Fed may have played all its cards, but state and local governments still hold a few aces. Some local politicians are looking into the feasibility of opening their own publicly-owned banks, providing them with their own credit machines.

October 1st, 2009 THE IMF CATAPULTS FROM SHUNNED AGENCY TO GLOBAL CENTRAL BANK “A year ago,” said law professor Ross Buckley on Australia’s ABC News last week, “nobody wanted to know the International Monetary Fund. Now it’s the organiser for the international stimulus package which has been sold as a stimulus package for poor countries.”

The IMF may have catapulted to a more exalted status than that. According to Jim Rickards, director of market intelligence for scientific consulting firm Omnis, the unannounced purpose of last week’s G20 Summit in Pittsburgh was that “the IMF is being anointed as the global central bank.”

A landmark ruling in a recent Kansas Supreme Court case may have given millions of distressed homeowners the legal wedge they need to avoid foreclosure. In Landmark National Bank v. Kesler, 2009 Kan. LEXIS 834, the Kansas Supreme Court held that a nominee company called MERS has no right or standing to bring an action for foreclosure. MERS is an acronym for Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, a private company that registers mortgages electronically and tracks changes in ownership. The significance of the holding is that if MERS has no standing to foreclose, then nobody has standing to foreclose – on 60 million mortgages...

September 7th, 2009 ECONOMIC 9-11: DID LEHMAN BROTHERS FALL OR WAS IT PUSHED The disastrous collapse of Lehman Brothers on 9-11-08 was the catalyst that changed the rules of the game for the big Wall Street financial players. The banks would henceforth be bailed out by the taxpayers, no matter what the cost. Was the Lehman bankruptcy the result of "market forces" or was it engineered? If the bank was pushed over the brink by invisible hands, whose hands were they and what goal was being served?

The government seems to be speaking out of both sides of its mouth, as the President preaches one thing and the FDA does another. If we are going to have “smarter medicine that really works,” we need to get politics, lobbies and cronyism out of science.

While the U.S. spends trillions of dollars to bail out its banking system, leaving its economy to languish, China is being called a “miracle economy” that has decoupled from the rest of the world. As the rest of the world sinks into the worst recession since the 1930s, China has maintained a phenomenal 8% annual growth rate. Those are the reports, but commentators are dubious. They ask how that growth is possible, when other countries relying heavily on exports have suffered major downturns and remain in the doldrums.

August 5th, 2009 THE PUBLIC OPTION IN BANKING: HOW WE CAN BEAT WALL STREET AT ITS OWN GAME President Obama has repeated his call for a public option in health care, in order to create some competition for the insurance companies and keep them honest. We the people need to call for a public option in banking, in order to create some competition for the private banks and keep them honest.  ....(...)

Voting in Britain for War. Take Your Pick    Saturday, 08 May 2010 06:25

by John Pilger   Global Research, May 7, 2010  and   New Statesman - 2010-05-04

'All three party leaders are warmongers. Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrats leader and darling of former Blair lovers, says that as prime minister he will “participate” in another invasion of a “failed state” provided there is “the right equipment, the right resources”.

His one condition is the standard genuflection towards a military now scandalised by a colonial cruelty of which the Baha Mousa case is but one of many.

For Clegg, as for Gordon Brown and David Cameron, the horrific weapons used by British forces, such as clusters, depleted uranium and the Hellfire missile, which sucks the air out of its victims’ lungs, do not exist. The limbs of children in trees do not exist. This year alone Britain will spend £4 billion on the war in Afghanistan, and that is what Brown and Cameron almost certainly intend to cut from the National Health Service.' Edward S Herman explained this genteel extremism in his essay, The Banality of Evil. There is a strict division of labour, ranging from the scientists working in the laboratories of the weapons industry, to the intelligence and “national security” personnel who supply the paranoia and “strategies”, to the politicians who approve them.         As for journalists, our task is to censor by omission and make the crime seem normal for you, the public.

For it is your understanding and your awakening that are feared, above all.  ////

Edwardian notions of war are again being promoted in western democracies, along with the militarising of history, journalism and parliamentary politics. In Britain, the three main candidiates for prime minister are declared warmakers; and yet popular feeling is very different.        Staring at the vast military history section in the airport shop, I had a choice: the derring-do of psychopaths or scholarly tomes with their illicit devotion to the cult of organised killing. There was nothing I recognised from reporting war. Nothing on the spectacle of children’s limbs hanging in trees and nothing on the burden of shit in your trousers. War is a good read. War is fun. More war please.

The day before I flew out of Australia, 25 April, I sat in a bar beneath the great sails of the Sydney Opera House. It was Anzac Day, the 95th anniversary of the invasion of Ottoman Turkey by Australian and New Zealand troops at the behest of British imperialism. The landing was an incompetent stunt of blood sacrifice conjured by Winston Churchill; yet it is celebrated in Australia as an unofficial national day. The ABC evening news always comes live from the sacred shore at Gallipoli, in Turkey, where this year some 8000 flag-wrapped Antipodeans listened, dewy-eyed, to the Australian governor-general Quentin Bryce, who is the Queen’s viceroy, describe the point of pointless mass killing.

It was, she said, all about a “love of nation, of service, of family, the love we give and the love we receive and the love we allow ourselves to receive. [It is a love that] rejoices in the truth, it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. And it never fails”.      Of all the attempts at justifying state murder I can recall, this drivel of DIY therapy, clearly aimed at the young, takes the blue riband. Not once did Bryce honour the fallen with the two words that the survivors of 1915 brought home with them: “Never again”. Not once did she refer to a truly heroic anti-conscription campaign, led by women, that stemmed the flow of Australian blood in the first world war, the product not of a gormlessness that “believes all things” but of anger in defence of life.

The next item on the TV news was an Australian government minister, John Faulkner, with the troops in Afghanistan. Bathed in the light of a perfect sunrise, he made the Anzac connection to the illegal invasion of Afghanistan in which, on 13 February last year, Australian soldiers killed five children. No mention was made of them. ....(....)

Israel Defiant on its 'Nuclear Arsenal'    Saturday, 08 May 2010 06:07

'A senior Israeli official insists that Tel Aviv will not change its nuclear policies despite international calls for the denuclearization of the Middle East. "There is nothing new here, and no reason for a change of direction on our part," the unnamed Israeli official was quoted by Reuters as saying on Friday.

Under an "ambiguity" policy, Tel Aviv neither confirms nor denies having nuclear weapons. However, according to the British Jane's Defense Weekly, security experts believe Tel Aviv is in the possession of 100 to 300 atomic warheads. Washington has so far invariably maintained a policy of silence on Tel Aviv's nuclear arsenal. It has also abused its veto power at the UN Security Council to block any resolution that it considers critical of the Israeli regime.

Middle Eastern countries, however, are beginning to question White House's "don't ask, don't tell" policy towards the supposed Israeli nuclear arsenal, which according to Arab states threatens the region's security. Meanwhile, world powers have used a current non-proliferation review conference in New York to underline Tel Aviv's refusal to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and also campaign for a nuclear-free Middle East.

According to Reuters, however, Israel has expressed dissatisfaction for being discussed at the NPT forum.

'Greece Being Forced to Buy Arms'   Saturday, 08 May 2010 06:02

'A leading European parliamentarian has accused France and Germany of forcing Greece to buy billions of euros in arms in exchange for their bailout money. France and Germany, while publicly urging Greece to make harsh public spending cuts, bullied its government to confirm billions of euros in arms deals, Franco-German lawmaker Daniel Cohn-Bendit alleged on Friday.  The accusation drew a stern denial from the French government. Cohn-Bendit said he had met last week in Athens with Papandreou, a long-time friend of his, and accused German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy of blackmailing the Greek leader.  Cohn-Bendit accused France and Germany of making their contributions to an IMF-led rescue package for the debt-ridden Greek economy contingent on Athens honoring massive arms deals signed by Papandreou's predecessor.

"Mr. Fillon and Mr. Sarkozy told Mr. Papandreou: 'We're going to raise the money to help you, but you are going to have to continue to pay the arms contracts that we have with you,'" Cohn-Bendit said. //  //

On Friday, eurozone leaders approved a 110-billion-euro Greek aid package in an emergency summit in Brussels.  The meeting was held in an effort to restore confidence in the euro after the Greek crisis rattled financial markets worldwide.

This is a wonderful uplifting story.
By Jim Spellman, CNN    May 7, 2010 9:18 a.m. EDT
Denver, Colorado (CNN) -- When Shay Kelley lost her marketing job she got worried. When she lost her home and her car she got mad.
"I went off into the woods and I started yelling at God," she says. "I didn't know why God would lead me up to this point in my life just to have me left with nothing."
"I was like, 'Just tell me what my purpose is, tell me why I'm here and if you'll just tell me I'll work harder than for anything I have ever worked for anything else in my entire life.' "
Within weeks she had her answer: Travel to all 50 states in 50 weeks. Collect canned goods for charities along the way and take a ton of pictures. She has dubbed it Project 50/50.                   Posted by John MacHaffie at 5:36 AM

    * Jobless and unemployed, Shay Kelley decides to embark on a new mission
    * Starting on New Year's Day, she began helping the homeless
    * She collected canned goods, then decided she wanted to do more  * Kelley is traveling to all 50 states with her camera, photographing America's homeless people ///

Denver, Colorado (CNN) -- ....(...)     //Gallery: Project 50/50 click here //

She stayed with friends while she waited tables and got together enough money to buy "Bubba," her 1984 Ford pickup truck. She packed her camera, which she calls "Roxy," and her dog, Zu Zu, and hit the road.

She began on New Year's Day in South Carolina, randomly going door to door to collect canned goods. "I set a goal of 200 cans a week, which doesn't sound like a lot, but the premise is [that] doing a little bit adds up to a lot," Kelley says. "After a year, [that's] 10,000 canned food items." She began to meet homeless people as she dropped off the canned goods, and she says they have surprised her with their generosity. She met Donald, a retired Navy sailor, at a library in South Carolina.
/////   3 ways to help the homeless in your community
- Bring Food: Take some crackers when you go out to give to someone who asks for change.
- Volunteer: Help out at a local shelter or soup kitchen, or tutor homeless children.
- Recruit local businesses: Ask local stores if you can set up containers on their premises where people can drop off donations.           Source: /////
"He invited me to go to lunch to buy me a hot meal because I had been eating PowerBars for three days," Kelley says. "I found out after he left -- after he paid the tab and paid my meter -- that Donald was homeless, that he was actually living in the shelter."

"That was the first week when I learned the people with the least tend to give the most."

Donald was one of the first people she photographed. She posts her pictures on her website and Facebook page as she goes. She has more than 1,000 Facebook fans following her travels.   ///See more of Kelley's photos ///

One of those Facebook followers is Laurie Holleman Sherrod, who contacted Kelley with an unusual request: She asked Kelley if she could find her son, Trey. The last time she heard, he was living on the streets in Santa Cruz, California. "I thought that's crazy, how do you find one homeless person in an entire city?" Kelley recalled.

But she agreed to try and sure enough a few weeks later she happened upon a nice young man on the streets of Santa Cruz. "And then here I am sitting around the table with Trey shooting a video for his mother who lives in South Carolina."

As with everything that has happened to her so far, she credits her faith with guiding her.

"It is so important to me that God remains in the forefront of my life," she says. "He leads me. He tells me to go right or go left. I can't really explain that to people, but I don't do anything, God does it all. I'm just standing here."

iReporter tells the story of one homeless man

Through her photos she captures people down on their luck, but not ready to give up. She says it has made her own uncertain future easier to deal with.

"I just hope that people who are in really rough situations will realize that God didn't forget about them. God is just trying to prepare them for something even bigger, even greater and even more blessed than they can even imagine."

May 8, 2010 10:48 AM Arizona's Sheriff JoeArpaio : Resisting The Marxist Takedown of America

** ...Ken Adachi says ....(Editor's Note:) When I was in high school and learned that the United States congress would not go along with President Woodrow Wilson and join the League of Nations following World War I, I asked myself: why? It seemed like a no-brainer, based on the rosy picture of the League of Nations and its 1945 successor, the United Nations that our brain washed teacher painted for us. Why would a country like the United States, Defender of Freedom and Liberty around the world, NOT want to participate in an organization dedicated to preventing wars and violent conflicts? It seemed so SIMPLE.

What I didn't know then, is what young hispanic Marxist hot heads, like "Gustavo" of KPFK radio out of Los Angeles, yammering away about the "fascist" Joe Arpaio, doesn't know today. The only thing standing between us and a communist style government in America is the US constitution and people like Joe Arpaio. The constitution means nothing by itself. It only has meaning and relevance when people like Joe Arpaio.try to uphold its tenets and enforce the laws intended to protect America and American citizens. For this, he will be mercilessly berated and vilified by witting or unwitting Marxists till the end of his days.              In this article, the Leftist sellout mayor of Phoenix, Arizona, Philip Gordon (touted as the first Jewish mayor of Phoenix) , characterizes Sheriff Arpaio enforcement of the law as a "reign of terror," while Mayor Gordon himself encourages the influx of illegal aliens into the Phoenix area with a policy of "sanctuary" or the intentional withholding of law enforcement practices against foreign nationals who illegally enter, work, reside, and feed off government services intended ONLY for the support of citizens of this nation.

The other thing that this slanted article fails to mentions is the reign of crime that illegal aliens are fueling throughout the state of Arizona, and especially in the "sanctuary" capital, Phoenix... -- Ken Adachi /////

Arizona's Sheriff Joe Arpaio: Resisting the Marxist Takedown of America (April 29, 2010)    Crackdown inspired by toughest sheriff in US, By David Usborne Thurs, 29 April 2010

Joe Arpaio: He has been labelled the 'toughest sheriff in America.' He rose to national prominence by opening his now infamous 'tent city' prison in Phoenix

Hispanics in Phoenix, Arizona, live on the patch of a man they call the "toughest sheriff in America", who, in his own way, has already been implementing many of the measures now contained in the new, state-wide immigration Bill.

He is Joe Arpaio, and stands as a symbol of what mortifies so many people about the new law he is under investigation by the Justice Department for alleged civil rights abuses and of the reasons it passed in the first place. And why the Governor, Janet Brewer, signed it. That's because Mr Arpaio, 77, does better with the voters the harsher he plays it. In November 2008 he was elected to serve as county sheriff for the fifth time.

In his first terms in office, Mr Arpaio was not focused on illegal immigration so much as crime generally. He rose to national prominence by opening his now infamous "tent city" prison in Phoenix, which remains in business today and was toured by this reporter last summer. Inmates boil under the canvas of army surplus tents, wear pink underclothes and sleep on pink sheets. Some work on chain gangs.

By turning his focus on illegal immigration, he has made himself more, not less, popular at the Phoenix ballot box. The Mayor, Philip Gordon, told The Independent of Mr Arpaio's "reign of terror" over the city with frequent, so-called "crime suppression" sweeps, which always seem to happen in the most Hispanic parts of town. Even a broken brake light is enough for Mr Arpaio's men to demand legal documentation.

Mr Arpaio acknowledged his tactics had meant that some Hispanics had become afraid even to go to church. But that was what he wanted. By his own calculation, he and his deputies had managed to drive as many as half of all the illegal immigrants out of the city. The Justice Department could go hang.

Mr Arpaio is not universally loved, but it is his political success that informed Governor Brewer when she signed the bill into law last week. She faces a tough primary race to remain in her job. But the sudden backlash may force the federal government to pass comprehensive immigration reform, with a form of amnesty for illegals already in the US. That would finally send Mr Arpaio into retirement.

Subject: Sheriff Joe v. Spineless Government

From:   Date: Wed, May 5, 2010 5:25 pm      To: Ken Adachi

Arizona State Senator Sylvia Allen:

I'm Arizona State Senator Sylvia Allen. I want to explain SB 1070 which I voted for and was just signed by Governor Jan Brewer. Rancher Rob Krantz was murdered by the drug cartel on his ranch a month ago. I participated in a senate hearing two weeks ago on the border violence, here is just some of the highlights from those who testified.

The people who live within 60 to 80 miles of the Arizona/Mexico Border have for years been terrorized and have pleaded for help to stop the daily invasion of humans who cross their property . One Rancher testified that 300 to 1200 people a DAY come across his ranch vandalizing his property, stealing his vehicles and property, cutting down his fences, and leaving trash. In the last two years he has found 17 dead bodies and two Koran bibles.

Another rancher testified that daily drugs are brought across his ranch in a military operation. A point man with a machine gun goes in front, 1/2 mile behind are the guards fully armed, 1/2 mile behind them are the drugs, behind the drugs 1/2 mile are more guards. These people are violent and they will kill anyone who gets in the way. This was not the only rancher we heard that day that talked about the drug trains.

One man told of two illegal's who came upon his property one shot in the back and the other in the arm by the drug runners who had forced them to carry the drugs and then shot them. Daily they listen to gun fire during the night it is not safe to leave his family alone on the ranch and they can't leave the ranch for fear of nothing being left when they come back.

The border patrol is not on the border. They have set up 60 miles away with check points that do nothing to stop the invasion. They are not allowed to use force in stopping anyone who is entering. They run around chasing them, if they get their hands on them then they can take them back across the border.

Federal prisons have over 35% illegal's and 20% of Arizona prisons are filled with illegal's. In the last few years 80% of our law enforcement that have been killed or wounded have been by an illegal.

The majority of people coming now are people we need to be worried about. The ranchers told us that they have seen a change in the people coming they are not just those who are looking for work and a better life.

The Federal Government has refused for years to do anything to help the border states . We have been over run and once they are here we have the burden of funding state services that they use. Education cost have been over a billion dollars. The healthcare cost billions of dollars. Our State is broke, $3.5 billion deficit and we have many serious decisions to make. One is that we do not have the money to care for any who are not here legally. It has to stop. The border can be secured. We have the technology we have the ability to stop this invasion. We must know who is coming and they must come in an organized manner legally so that we can assimilate them into our population and protect the sovereignty of our country. We are a nation of laws. We have a responsibility to protect our citizens and to protect the integrity of our country and the government which we live under.

I would give amnesty today to many, but here is the problem, we dare not do this until the Border is secure. It will do no good to forgive them because thousands will come behind them and we will be over run to the point that there will no longer be the United States of America but a North American Union of open borders. I ask you what form of government will we live under? How long will it be before we will be just like Mexico , Canada or any of the other Central American or South American countries? We have already lost our language, everything must be printed in Spanish also. We have already lost our history it is no longer taught in our schools. And we have lost our borders.

The leftist media has distorted what SB 1070 will do. It is not going to set up a Nazi Germany. Are you kidding. The ACLU and the leftist courts will do everything to protect those who are here illegally, but it was an effort to try and stop illegal's from setting up businesses, and employment, and receiving state services and give the ability to local law enforcement when there is probable cause like a traffic stop to determine if they are here legally. Federal law is very clear if you are here on a visa you must have your papers on you at all times. That is the law. In Arizona all you need to show you are a legal citizen is a driver license, MVD identification card, Native American Card, or a Military ID. This is what you need to vote, get a hunting license, etc.. So nothing new has been added to this law. No one is going to be stopped walking down the street etc... The Socialist who are in power in DC are angry because we dare try and do something and that something the Socialist wants us to do is just let them come. They want the"Transformation" to continue.

Maybe it is too late to save America . Maybe we are not worthy of freedom anymore. But as an elected official I must try to do what I can to protect our Constitutional Republic . Living in America is not a right just because you can walk across the border. Being an American is a responsibility and it comes by respecting and upholding the Constitution--- the law of our land which says what you must do to be a citizen of this country. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.    Senator Sylvia Allen

The following is an appeal to the understanding of due process within the Phoenix City Council with respect to the political grandstanding by the weak and utterly gutless Mayor Phil Gordon.            Subject: Message from Councilman Sal DiCiccio:

City Attorney Rules Against Mayor Gordon

Dear Friends,    I have some important information from Phoenix City Attorney Gary Verburg to share with you.   As you all know, Mayor Phil Gordon believed he had the ability to press a lawsuit against the state of Arizona to halt the implementation of SB-1070. I, and a clear majority of the council, let the mayor know that he could not take such action without the consent of the City Council.

Attached is the letter from the city attorney outlining the fact that Mayor Gordon cannot take such action without the approval of the council.

Your voice was definitely heard by me and my colleagues.

Like you, I feel that SB-1070 will make all Arizonans more safe and secure. Since 1999, eight Phoenix police officers have been murdered or seriously injured by illegal immigrants. I feel this is unacceptable.

I admire the courage of the Arizona State Legislature and Governor Jan Brewer in passing and signing this bill into law; a law which an overwhelming majority of Arizonans support.

Thank you again for all of your support,

Sal DiCiccio  Phoenix City Councilman

Arizona is the last line of defense in the border battle or so it would seem. When in reality, the real battle is the unsavory backdoor moves by this criminal administration to purchase votes at all costs. The list of criminal behavior is so extensive that it would be difficult to identify, therefore, the subject matter in this article is limited to immigration and Sheriff Joe. We need more standup people like Joe, not Phil Gordon.

May 8, 2010 10:01 AM Lyndon LaRouche Addresses Diplomatic Luncheon: Glass-Steagall, now!    Written, May 5, 2010 (LPAC) Lyndon LaRouche made the following remarks to a private gathering of diplomats in Washington, on May 4, 2010.

*Probably the leading question right now, the leading question around the world is, the fact that the entire international monetary-financial system is now in the process of disintegration. The disintegration is centered in Europe, and also Brazil. Because the center of the collapse right now, is located in the Rothschild-centered interests of Britain, which includes the Inter-Alpha Group. And the Brazil carry trade is the pivotal element in the present world financial crash.

However, a crash in this realm, which is hitting already Greece — Greece is not the problem. Greece is being made a problem, but it is not the problem. The problem lies in the Inter-Alpha Group, which is centered largely in Britain, Spain, Brazil; it's a well-known group which was founded in 1971 which took over the world system increasingly, since the U.S. collapsed the fixed-exchange-rate system. And Greece is not a crisis point; it has its own crisis, but it is not the real cause of the crisis. It's simply being used to try to orchestrate the thing in favor of the Inter-Alpha Group. The real crisis spot in Europe is Spain, Portugal, Ireland, and so forth, and it's essentially the British Inter-Alpha Group, also centered in Brazil, which runs the real, key world carry trade right now.

Now, the question then, is what's the solution for this? And there's only one solution that's going to save the world from a general breakdown crisis of the entire world system. The crisis is centered in the trans-Atlantic community right now. That is, the United States itself, under the current President, is a disaster area. And until this President is replaced, the United States is going to continue to be a disaster area. Only the elimination of this President by his expulsion from office, in one way or the other, will prevent that from happening. And when the United States goes, then the whole world system will go.

The problem is, we have, in the other parts of the planet, —for example, in part of the Russian program, the Russian monetary-financial system is a disaster area, because it's tied into the Inter-Alpha Group. But the Russian physical economy, the Russian prospectives are very good, because Russia is part of the Asian process, which is concentrating on nuclear power, railway transportation systems, and other things, which are essential. By itself, it would seem that this part of Asia, or Eurasia, is in a very strong position. The problem is, if the trans-Atlantic system goes under, then the entire world system goes under. So the problem is not centered in Asia, but Asia can not withstand, the effects of a collapse of the trans-Atlantic economy.

There's only one remedy, there's only one way this can be stopped: And that is to go — and the thing is right in the United States, it's being pressed now. We don't know whether we have a sufficient majority for it or not, but it is being pushed: And that is, the reinstallation of a Glass-Steagall standard for the U.S. dollar. If that Glass-Steagall is established, and there's much and growing pressure for this, in that case, then the United States can become the pivot of a recovery of the world economy.

What this means is this: Most of the international debt of the world today is fraudulent. It's based on financial structures which are absolutely fraudulent. And therefore, if you were to put the world through a Glass-Steagall standard, the standard which was established by Franklin Roosevelt in 1933 and continued until 1987-89, if that standard is imposed by the United States, then, what happens is, most of the debt, most of the nominal financial debt of the world is cancelled. Because most of the debt of nations is fraudulent. It is purely financial speculation, it has no intrinsic value. So therefore, what would happen would be, you would have quadrillions of dollars of worthless debt, on the world, would disappear: Under those conditions, and with the establishment of a fixed-exchange-rate system, on that basis we could handle the entire process.

That doesn't end the problem. It ends the immediate problem. The immediate problem is, growth of the world economy. That's going to be a longer-term process: It'll probably take two generations to build up the world economy again, from the mess it's become now. But it's perfectly feasible. This means a very large increase of nuclear power development. It will mean the reactivation of a large-scale space program, which will be the major technology-driver for the planet as a whole. These are the conditions that we require.

It means, largely, worldwide, an emphasis on basic economic infrastructure: mass transportation systems, water systems, power systems, and the general basic infrastructure. Because we have a lot of poor people on this planet, who have no intrinsic technological skills. They can acquire these skills, but it will take a generation or two to build up the skill level of the people. So, in the meantime, we will start largely with emphasis on basic economic infrastructure. Then, the basic economic infrastructure, will then be the stimulant for the revival of agriculture and industries.

This means long-term investment. It means a fixed-exchange-rate system is required for the world to do this. Because you're going to have much of the development will occur across borders: technology transfer across borders, and the transfer effected through long-term, fixed-exchange-rate credit. Which means you're talking about two generations, for example, when you're talking about a major industry, you're talking about two generations. This is a two-generation investment. If you're talking about major infrastructure, like transportation systems, large water systems, and other essentials, you're talking about, really, a century investment. So, we have essentially, an immediate half-century, two generations, of development of the population, through infrastructure and expansion of industry and agriculture. But the long-term investment is that.

And the long-term investment is tied to space exploration. It is much underestimated by some people, but actually, it is much more significant and feasible than most people think. It's also much more difficult than some people think. You're not going to — the space between planetary orbits is not empty. You see these maps and these diagrams and they talk about "empty space" in between planetary orbits — that's not true. What is out there is a lot of cosmic radiation, electromagnetic radiation.

The whole system is dominated by radiation: And if you're trying to get to Mars with human beings, as opposed to getting to Mars by objects carried in capsules, you have a problem. Human beings can not survive 300 days, in the distance between Earth and Mars, not under normal conditions that we would think of today. It requires only an accelerated propulsion between the two planetary orbits, which could be up to as short as three days. But we don't know how well human beings could withstand that kind of travel. ...(...)   But in the long run, the mission of getting to Mars, will be the basic driver, in technology-driver, which defines the hopeful future of mankind. The work we're required to do, to reach that goal, say before the end of this century, will be the main driver, the technology-driver, for the economies of the planet. ..(...)

So, we have to take an optimistic view, as a policy view. We have to recognize that the present financial-monetary system can not possibly work. There is no way, that the present system of Europe can be salvaged. Europe, as of now — right now! — is in the process of collapse: That is, the European economy in the process of a chain-reaction collapse. And the policy of bailout of Greece, and the whole policy on Greece bailout, is a catastrophe: It will destroy Greece, and will destroy all of Europe. It's a piece of insanity, concocted in London, and it is not good for humanity.

Greeks are going to resist this, because it's an existential question: They can not survive the conditions which Europe is trying to impose on Greece, now. They will not survive it. Therefore, they will resist it. They will resist it with great anger, as we see this already steaming up in Greece now. And therefore, Europe must take the pressure off Greece. And I see the only solution is to go through this Glass-Steagall-type of reorganization of the European financial system, which would wipe out most of the Greek debt. Because most of the Greek debt is of a speculative nature, and it is fraudulent, and would be eliminated by a Glass-Steagall approach.

The key thing to solve this problem is not to savage the people of Europe, or other parts of the world. The point is to cancel the fraudulent debt! The world is being crushed by fraudulent debt, of speculative interests: We have to do the same thing that Franklin Roosevelt did, in 1933, in rescuing the United States from disaster, and that was the enactment of the Glass-Steagall legislation. And then later, Roosevelt, of course, in 1944, also proposed a fixed-exchange-rate system.

Now Roosevelt's proposal was not fulfilled as he had intended it, because Truman and the British had a different idea. But, the combination of a Glass-Steagall policy, for the United States, now, and the extension of that Glass-Steagall policy, to apply it also to the situation in Europe, which is now crashing — because all of Europe is crashing, and it is crashing, hopelessly, without some change in policy.

So, the only solution would be, the United States goes with the Glass-Steagall policy, now. That is, building up as a policy inside the United States now — not with the President, who may be out soon — but with significant parts of the legislative political scene, and others. If that's adopted, then the United States can become a pivot, instead of a disaster, become a pivot for Europe; if Europe then joins the United States, in supporting both a Glass-Steagall standard, for cleaning up the value of European currencies, and debt, and then goes to a fix-exchange-rate system, and extends that to other nations, particularly to Russia, to China, to India, and to the participation of Japan, South Korea, and so forth: If that's done, then the world can go suddenly, right now, from a doom which is what we're headed for right now, into a recovery.

If those measures are not taken, then you are going to have a dark age for all humanity. The dark age will start in the trans-Atlantic region, the rest — Asia, for example — can not withstand the effect of a general collapse of the trans-Atlantic system. And therefore the trans-Atlantic system must be cleaned up, as a precondition for a solution for all other problems.

And these things are realities now. These are the things that I'm discussing in various channels, with people in governments and relevant governments — not all of the members of those governments, but some of them — and the dynamic for this is growing. So we have, right now, the possibility — and it's real, it's not speculative. It's real, but it's uncertain: That is, these are things that can be done, are politically feasible in the immediate future, but it's by no means assured that they will be adopted. If they are adopted, that's a possibility worth fighting for, then, by an action from inside the United States, to reenact the Glass-Steagall legislation, for which there's growing support in the United States among politicians, particularly since this Goldman Sachs crisis. Goldman Sachs' scandal has now opened the gate, for a demand for a return to a Glass-Steagall standard. If that's done, that cleans up the mess of the U.S. financial system.

If that mess is cleaned up in the U.S., then the application of the same method, through cooperation with the United States, can reach Europe. Then, there is a solution for Europe. Under the present governments, the present policies, the present financial systems in Europe, Europe is now doomed. If the change is made, Europe can survive, and grow. But if that change is not made, Europe is going into a virtual dark age — right now. This is not something that will happen in the future, this is something that is happening, right now, as we stand and sit here: This is reality.

So my concern is that. And I can say that I'm pushing this around the world, and I can say, I'm getting some favorable reception on these ideas: The commitment to implement the ideas is not that clear. But you're seeing resistance in Europe, as in Germany in particular, strong resistance to the proposal of the so-called "Greek bailout," which is the death of Greece, if it's put there, because Greece will go into chaos. The Greek people can not stand it, they can not withstand this, and it's injust action! Greece should be allowed to do a financial reorganization of its own internal affairs, clear away the debts that are not legitimate, and reorganize its finances for growth. Greece does not have the industry or the industrial development it needs for growth, at present. But that can be supplied through cooperation with Europe, and Europe must cooperate in that.

There is a strong feeling for this. It's growing in Germany. It's probably weaker in France. Who knows what'll happen in Spain and Portugal, and possibly Italy, as well. So, France, Italy, after Germany, are possible areas where a revolt against this policy, which is a ruinous policy, could occur.

The bailout policy will not work! There has to be a financial organization, akin to a Glass-Steagall-type: Get rid of the fraudulent debt — the speculative fraudulent debt! — and then we can reorganize the world. The initiative has to come much from the United States. There are people in the United States who agree with this idea. I don't know how much commitment they have to make it work, but it's an idea which is current in the United States, among leading circles. And if it is adopted, that is the solution.

And a solution of this type for the United States, would mean an immediate option for nations of Europe. If nations of Europe join with the United States in such a reform, then the situation of the world can be saved. Because the kind of programs you're getting in Asia, for example, in the physical programs in Russia — railway development, which is stalled, but it's necessary; the development of nuclear power, these things are necessary; the cooperation of Russia with China is absolutely crucial; the cooperation of Japan and South Korea with this, is crucial. The cooperation of China and Russia and so forth, with India, is crucial.

These countries are committed — though they have many poor people, they're committed to the growing use of nuclear power, mass transportation, and related infrastructure programs ...(...) We have to have, essentially, a minimal 50-year program prospect, in terms of policies, of treaty agreements among nations which will make this possible. We're now at that turning point: This is not something tomorrow, this is today, and it was already yesterday. The world is on the verge of a general breakdown crisis, starting in the trans-Atlantic region, centered now, especially in Europe, or in the Inter-Alpha Group victims such as Brazil, and around the world.

We have a chance: The question is, will the politicians have the guts to do it, to take the chance? It's the only chance we have. And I'm optimistic. I'm optimistic, because I'm an old soldier and a fighter, and if nations decide they need something, in order to survive and they find leaders who are responsive to that, we have seen in the past, nations can survive. And that's where we stand today.*
